Daniel Otto, Executive Chef
Chef Otto is an acclaimed Top chef, restaurateur, and soon to be cookbook author. Originally, from Honolulu, Hawaii, his passion for cooking took him all over the country learning different cuisines and techniques. Ultimately, he settled in the culinary mecca of San Francisco and began his formal education. He graduated from the prestigious California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and has worked at highly acclaimed facilities such as the Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Hotel Corporation, A’sabellas,Shanghai Reds, TPC Valencia to name a few.
Calling beautiful Santa Clarita home for the past 20 years, Chef Daniel Otto quickly became a household name in both the culinary divisions and the local community. Bringing his culinary experiences to new heights and becoming a proud Culinary Instructor for the Culinary Arts department at College of the Canyons.Some of his noteworthy and recent professional accolades were, being named the Ultimate Chef in 2011 ,2012 ,and 2017 by SCV Elite Magazine and he won Soroptomist International of Greater SCV’s “Top Chef” competition both years. All of this, leading up to the inevitable of finally choosing the right partners and opening up the soon to be Flagship: “The Old Town Junction” (Kitchen – Bar – Patio). With many other inspiring offers on the table, Chef Daniel Otto could have easily continued his culinary journeys elsewhere. Realizing and being at the forefront of the ever changing culinary experience in the suburbs and observing how the community he love’s deserves and demands more original concepts, staying in Santa Clarita (namely Newhall) was clearly the right decision.
